Shown with Vietnam WCC wrist compass, watch is in war used condition, runs for a few minutes -needs to be cleaned and serviced. This model is one of two types issued by CISO to special forces and SOG, time was very important in recon, SEIKO was known for being very durable that is why CISO issued them, and they were not us marked

During the war there were only 6 navy men connected to MAC V SOG, this is the original tiger stripe uniform of one of those Us Navy men, this a very rare item, obtained from Jason hardy at the dog tag.com

Hat is original from a sog vet and is incoutry made with short brim , hat has the signal panel sewed in as was done with many recon units so they could be seen from the air during evacuation or rescue, hat came from Jason hardy @ the dog tag .com

Knife was captured by Frank Greco on a mission with RT Colorado MAC V SOG , the knife is pictured in the book running recon, pictured is his third pattern shirt, his book and the captured knife, knife was taken from a pathet lao

WHEN IAN SUTHERLAND DIED HIS RELATIVES GAVE ME A CALL TO COME LOOK AT WHAT WAS LEFT OF HIS ESTATE

The curator of the museum at ft bragg had already removed all of his uniforms for the museum, left was all his papers, Items from his book, and other personal items. all items are now in other noted collections except this piece. It was on his desk, I could not part with it, it does not have much monetary value but it is a piece of art to me and I really liked it.

I was contacted by the artist who made this piece, Iit was made around 1999 and given to Ian Sutherland as a gift, the artist said he made two on these as gifts, one for Ian and one for John Greco, Its unknown if John received his item, The artist is a welder who is a SOG collector in Sweden, his name is Martin Larsen, thank you Martin

1. These came from a VERY SPECIAL friend of mine, she was a nurse in nam for several years . she was involved with a special forces sergeant that was on his third tour. she said he was sheep dipped ( CLEAN, NO RECORD OF ) for his missions , he went home before her and left these with her. THE CIB IS ALSO SOMETHING HE LEFT WITH HER, THEY NEVER SAW EACH OTHER AGAIN .

THE TOP IS HIS BAYONET AND THE BOTTOM KNIFE IS A NUGYEN DAN KNIFE

2. The blade of the nguyen Dan in country fighting knife is marked by the owner, he got this knife on his first tour, 65-66 and carried it on all other tours,

This nguyen Dan knife is a large one and comes with the original sheath, a very sought after knife then and now

3. The bayonet and sheath are also marked with his name and 5th speical forces group and 65-66

4. The sheath has the vet name and info

5. CISO supplied bolo knife, used by Special Forces and MAC V SOG and recon teams

The mini smoke is a real one, yellow, used my MAC V SOG teams for over the fence operations, it was small and easy to carry several .
