This I think is an officer uniform due to the belt loops, the odd thing that bothers me is the use of heavy loops for the shoulder boards, not sure if this is a late war or post war uniform
Nva uniform pants that came with this shirt, these look period correct except for the belt on the pants, all the buttons on the shirt and pants are squared off and correct, the belt that came with the shirt is dated 1969 and is a Chinese export to Vietnam. It has button and loop at the cuff also.
The whole rig shows no use as if it came from a arms cache. the sticks are dated what seems to be 58, the pouch is kaki and is dated 1970, I have never seen khaki pouch dated this late most are reed green, nice set
I have checked with all the collectors I know and this is a very rare bird if not one of a kind that was brought back my mike Mueller , 18th MP BRG, it’s a plastic arm band for a pow who was wounded in combat. Very cool item
Captured Viet Cong items, key ring with p38 rat opener, the round thing is a nail clipper, and the other tool is either a tweezers or used for Ho sandal repairs. captured by mike Mueller / 18th MP 68-72
I saw this on eBay one day and it caught my attention due to the suspension in the hat, on close inspection i fell this is an original Vietnamese made helmet with a field expedient custom made suspension . Only one i have ever found like it
This is a very nice condition VC helmet , this is from the personal collection of John O’Connor , he had this salted away for some time very original and take a close look at the NVA pin on the front , i have only seen a few like that in my years of collecting , the pin could be Viet minh
I have been searching for one of these forever, the two items i have been searching for are one a captured ball point pen and original VC used jungle made mirror, this is made from the tin of a Budweiser can. Only one i have ever found
This lamp is made from a French bottle marked alcohol dementh, a French medicinal alcohol and mint , used for upset stomach . The cap is Bakelite not plastic, the lamp is from a jungle work shop that made most of the tunnel lamps, take a look at my others, they look to be made by the same person
This bottle was found with all the bring back items from Mike Mueller, was in the box with all the other captured items, it’s very small, I will update this later when i have a chance to translate the label
